  • Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) uncovers gold-bearing anomaly at Arrakis prospect.
  • First-pass drilling reveals substantial gold intercepts.
  • Exploration program moves forward to assess potential and scale.

In an exciting discovery for investors, Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) has identified the Arrakis gold prospect in Western Australia, after successful results from its recent exploration efforts. The new prospect was uncovered during a first-pass aircore drilling program targeting a large fault structure in the region.

The targeted fault zone, which spans one kilometre in length and three kilometres in width, is made up of intermediate and mafic volcanic rocks. The drilling program focused on this area, uncovering a low-level regolith anomaly that indicated the presence of gold mineralization. Among the significant findings was a standout intercept of 11 metres at 1.7 g/t gold, starting at 97 metres down to the bottom of the hole. This result marked a key milestone for Yandal, confirming the potential of this untested greenfields area.

Yandal Resources is continuing to assess the newly discovered Arrakis prospect, located in the northern part of its tenure. The geological evidence suggests that the gold anomaly is associated with faulting and host rock alteration, further hinting at the region’s exploration potential. Given the limited previous work done in the area, this represents a promising opportunity to develop a new gold resource in the largely underexplored greenfields region.

Following the success of this first-pass drilling, Yandal Resources is now planning its next steps, which include further assay testing, heritage surveys, and an expanded aircore drilling program. These steps are designed to build on the data already collected and give a clearer understanding of the size and full potential of the gold anomaly at the Arrakis prospect.

As the company progresses with its exploration plans, attention will be focused on understanding the full extent of the anomaly's scale and determining how it can be integrated into the broader IWB Gold Project area, where further opportunities for growth exist.

This discovery by Yandal Resources is just one of the many exciting developments in the company's efforts to unlock the mineral wealth of Western Australia, offering intriguing prospects for both shareholders and exploration enthusiasts alike.
