Highlights
- Significant Gold Intercepts: Lunnon Metals confirmed shallow gold mineralisation at Lady Herial, with notable results including 24.80m at 2.04g/t, 15.20m at 2.70g/t, and 14.32m at 0.71g/t.
- Discovery of High-Grade Quartz-Breccia Structure: A robust structure graded 4.0m at 10.46g/t gold, starting just 21 meters below the surface.
- Enhanced Project Confidence: Managing Director Edmund Ainscough noted the results as a critical step in de-risking and advancing the Kambalda Gold & Nickel Project (KGNP).
Lunnon Metals Ltd (ASX:LM8) has delivered promising results from its latest exploration campaign at the Kambalda Gold & Nickel Project (KGNP), confirming broad gold mineralisation at shallow depths at the Lady Herial prospect. The findings, derived from two diamond drill holes, highlight significant gold grades, including 24.80 meters at 2.04 grams per tonne (g/t), 15.20 meters at 2.70g/t, and 14.32 meters at 0.71g/t.
The standout from the campaign was the discovery of a robust quartz-breccia structure, returning 4.0 meters at 10.46g/t gold from a depth of just 21 meters. This shallow and high-grade intercept underscores the strong potential for economically viable gold mineralisation at Lady Herial.
The diamond drilling program, conducted at the tail end of Lunnon’s 2024 campaign, targeted three structural levels—upper, middle, and lower—at Lady Herial. These drill holes were strategically placed adjacent to previous reverse circulation (RC) drilling. The results demonstrated continuity in mineralisation, with the quartz-breccia lode structures showing widths and grades comparable to those identified in the nearby RC drill holes.
The proximity of the mineralisation to the surface and its high-grade nature further enhance the potential for cost-effective extraction. Managing Director Edmund Ainscough expressed confidence in the results, stating, “These results provide invaluable data to continue the Company’s methodical process of analysing and de-risking Lady Herial.”
The new data not only supports previous findings but also strengthens the geological model for the Lady Herial prospect, a key component of the broader KGNP. The project is strategically located in the Kambalda region, a well-known hub for gold and nickel exploration in Western Australia.
