Highlights:
- First Cat 7495 dipper bucket delivered to Chile
- $2.5 million order supports rising South American demand
- Expansion aligns with S&P/ASX 200 mining growth
Austin Engineering (ASX:ANG), a leading provider of mining equipment and engineering solutions, has successfully completed the manufacture and delivery of its first Cat 7495 model dipper bucket for a customer in Chile. This milestone marks a significant step in the company’s expansion into the high-demand South American mining market.
The $2.5 million order was fulfilled by Austin’s facility in La Negra, Chile, which has previously handled bucket builds for regional clients. However, this delivery is particularly noteworthy as it represents the first time a Cat 7495 dipper bucket has been manufactured locally in Chile by Austin. The massive dipper weighs 86 tonnes and is capable of moving up to 100 tonnes of material in a single scoop—an essential capacity for large-scale mining operations.
The successful delivery comes at a time when the global demand for critical minerals such as copper and lithium is accelerating, especially across Latin America. This aligns well with Austin’s strategy to scale its capabilities in international markets following its acquisition of Australian bucket manufacturer Mainetec in 2022. That acquisition enabled Austin to offer high-value dipper buckets tailored for global mining needs and extended its reach to the Americas.
As Austin continues to build momentum, its Chilean facility is undergoing further expansion to handle increased throughput expected in FY26 and beyond. This initiative supports the company’s aim to become a strategic partner in South America’s mining supply chain—a region recognized for its rich deposits of essential industrial metals.
The broader mining sector within the ASX 200 is witnessing renewed interest as companies streamline operations and pursue global growth. Austin’s latest achievement exemplifies the kind of innovation and execution that is driving this upward trend in the ASX200 mining landscape.
Austin Engineering (ANG) remains focused on supporting mining operations with durable, high-performance equipment and engineering solutions designed for productivity. The company collaborates with mining companies, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to deliver products tailored to the rigors of heavy-duty environments, with a growing emphasis on serving international markets like South America.
