  • Project targets rural and culturally diverse communities

Visionflex Group Limited (ASX:VFX) has announced a binding agreement with Amplar Health to roll out its virtual care technology as part of an innovative virtual nursing project. Valued at approximately $1.0 million, the contract includes $750,000 worth of hardware and $250,000 in software subscription revenue, set to be delivered over a trial period ending in June 2027.

The project focuses on supporting up to 30 Residential Aged Care Homes across Australia. Deployment is scheduled to begin in July 2025, starting with five initial sites and expanding over 15 months. This initiative represents a significant step toward improving healthcare delivery, especially in rural and remote communities, and is expected to make a meaningful impact on aged care services for older Australians, including those from First Nations and culturally diverse backgrounds.

Visionflex (VFX) is supplying the technology backbone for the project, leveraging its real-time diagnostic and virtual consultation platform. The aim is to strengthen the support provided to aged care staff while also enhancing the care experience for residents. The collaboration will enable on-site staff to connect with clinical professionals remotely, ensuring timely and efficient healthcare interventions.

If the pilot proves successful, the model could be scaled to more facilities nationwide, offering a blueprint for integrating telehealth solutions into aged care on a larger scale. The use of advanced virtual diagnostic tools is expected to reduce the burden on healthcare professionals and streamline care management in facilities where access to medical staff can be limited.

Visionflex CEO Joshua Mundey highlighted the significance of the partnership, calling it a transformative step for both the company and the aged care sector. He noted that combining Amplar Health’s clinical resources with Visionflex’s technology has the potential to reshape how aged care is delivered, particularly in underserved regions.

As Australia’s healthcare landscape continues to evolve, this initiative underscores the growing role of technology in closing the gap in service delivery. The outcome of this pilot could pave the way for wider adoption of virtual care, improving healthcare equity and operational efficiency across the aged care sector.
