- Visionflex and Amplar launch $1m telehealth initiative for aged care
- Pilot to serve 30 residential aged care homes across Australia
- Focus on virtual nursing and personalised clinical care
Visionflex Group (ASX:VFX) has announced a strategic $1 million partnership with Amplar Home Health to roll out a new telehealth pilot program aimed at transforming clinical care access for older Australians in residential aged care homes.
The initiative, set to begin in July, will deliver virtual nursing and personalised healthcare services to up to 30 residential aged care homes (RACHs) over a 15-month period. Initially, the rollout will commence across five sites, with the potential to scale significantly across the nation.
At the core of this partnership is a shared commitment to improving timely and consistent healthcare delivery in aged care settings. The program will leverage Visionflex’s integrated virtual care platform, which includes both hardware and software, to facilitate remote diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment. Residents will be able to connect with healthcare professionals without leaving their facilities, supported by carers or family members during consultations.
This pilot is not only a technology deployment but also a step toward building a more resilient healthcare framework. Designed for scalability, the program holds potential to extend its benefits to additional RACHs in the future, especially those located in rural and remote regions.
The contract carries a value of approximately $750,000 in hardware sales and $250,000 in software subscription revenue for Visionflex over the course of the trial period, which extends through June 2027.
Visionflex’s leadership emphasised that this initiative is designed to complement — not replace — traditional face-to-face care. The aim is to enhance clinical support and improve care continuity, particularly in areas with limited access to in-person services.
Australia is currently home to around 2,700 residential aged care facilities serving more than 190,000 residents. As digital health adoption grows, the demand for telehealth in aged care continues to rise. Visionflex (VFX) sees this collaboration as a vital step toward modernising care delivery models, with the added benefit of supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities and First Nations peoples.
This partnership marks a meaningful advancement in the use of virtual healthcare technologies in aged care, addressing both current challenges and future demands.
