Highlights

  • Q2 FY2025 Sales Revenue Exceeds Forecast: Biome Australia achieved ~$4.6 million in sales revenue for Q2 FY2025, surpassing the market forecast of $4.5 million, marking a solid quarter despite seasonal challenges.

  • Strong Annualized Run Rate: The Q2 performance represents an annualized run rate of $18.4 million, setting a strong foundation for continued growth throughout FY25.

  • Positive EBITDA and Ambitious Vision 27 Growth Strategy: Biome has maintained positive EBITDA for the past three quarters and is targeting a 45% CAGR to meet its Vision 27 goal of $85 million in cumulative sales by FY27, with a current three-year CAGR of 70.5%.

Biome Australia Limited (ASX:BIO), a leader in microbiome health, has released a positive trading update for Q2 FY2025, highlighting strong sales growth and an optimistic outlook for the remainder of the year.

The company reported unaudited sales revenue of ~$4.6 million for the quarter, slightly exceeding the market forecast of $4.5 million. This performance is especially impressive given that December, historically the slowest month for the industry due to seasonality and reduced trading days, often hampers results. The solid Q2 sales figure underscores Biome’s resilience and market strength, positioning it well for future growth.

Biome’s Q2 sales revenue translates into an annualized run rate of $18.4 million, setting a strong trajectory for continued growth through FY25. The second half of the financial year, typically the strongest seasonal period, is expected to further boost sales and revenue.

The company has been operating with positive EBITDA over the past three quarters, a clear indication of its improving financial health and operational efficiency. In line with its ambitious growth plans, Biome recently unveiled its Vision 27 strategic plan, which targets $85 million in cumulative sales over the next three years (FY25-27). To meet the top end of this target, Biome needs to achieve a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of ~45% during the period. Currently, Biome is well ahead of this pace, running at a three-year CAGR of 70.5% as of December 31, 2024.

Biome’s Vision 27 plan outlines the company’s commitment to long-term growth, with a focus on scaling its microbiome health products and expanding its customer base. With positive financial momentum and strong sales projections, Biome is poised for continued success in FY25 and beyond.
