  • Expansion in Australia: Atomo Diagnostics rolls out free HIV self-tests across Australia.
  • Launch in New Zealand: Introduction of HIV self-test kits through Chemist Warehouse.
  • Executive Insight: CEO emphasizes the importance of accessibility and international growth.

Atomo Diagnostics (ASX:AT1) is taking significant strides to increase the accessibility of HIV self-testing solutions. The company recently announced the expansion of its CONNECT Programme in Australia, aiming to distribute HIV self-tests via vending machines. This initiative is designed to enhance the availability of critical health resources, making it easier for individuals to access HIV testing anonymously and conveniently.

The expansion follows a successful initial collaboration with Thorne Harbour Health, which has already resulted in an order valued at approximately $230,000. With additional funding secured for 2026, Atomo Diagnostics is set to further enhance its efforts to support public health campaigns.

In addition to its initiatives in Australia, Atomo Diagnostics is making its mark on the international stage with the recent launch of its HIV Self-Test in New Zealand. This move comes after the successful registration for import and partnership with Chemist Warehouse, New Zealand's largest retail pharmacy chain. This partnership is expected to play a crucial role in increasing the test's accessibility, catering to a broader audience and supporting New Zealand's health objectives.

CEO John Kelly expressed his enthusiasm about the project's progress and its alignment with government efforts to combat HIV. “We are excited about the growing adoption of HIV Self-Testing as critical to the government’s efforts to fight against HIV and look forward to continuing to work with Thorne Harbour Health and others to ensure that tests are readily available in the community where needed,” said Kelly. He further highlighted the company's plans for growth, noting, “We are also pleased to be able to expand our supply of the Atomo HIV Self-Test into the New Zealand market and we continue to look for international markets where we can secure meaningful pharmacy retail channel access for our HIV product.”

These developments reflect Atomo Diagnostics' commitment to public health and its strategic approach to expansion both domestically and internationally. By improving access to HIV testing, Atomo is not only supporting public health initiatives but is also positioning itself as a leader in the global health sector. The company's efforts to make HIV testing more accessible are likely to have a positive impact on public health outcomes in Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
