Australia-headquartered Titomic Limited (ASX:TTT) has recently achieved a crucial milestone by successfully completing Factory Acceptance Testing before shipment and installation of its first commercially ordered turnkey glass mould coatings system.

The completion of the Factory Acceptance Testing is the final step before shipment that confirms the machine is performing as designed and accepted by the customer for delivery. The Company now expects the system’s delivery to be completed in the coming days.

For the uninitiated, Titomic is an ASX-listed company, which specialises in large integrated solutions for industrial-scale metal additive manufacturing, utilising its patented cold spray additive manufacturing technology.

About the glass mould coatings system

In collaboration with International Partners in Glass Research (IPGR), Titomic Europe has developed the world’s first automated cold spray system for glass mould coatings.

IPGR is a leading glass research organisation, which represents numerous partner companies comprising 12 per cent of the glass packaging market. As per the Global Market Insights 2021 report, the glass packaging market is valued at USD 51 billion per annum with a CAGR of 4.4 per cent.

Titomic’s highly automated system enables:

Moreover, the system scans the moulds and produces a robotic program to automatically coat and repair the mould using AI software. This system is a breakthrough in automated cold spray and is expected to significantly improve the performance of moulds for the glass industry. Subsequent generations of this system will see the introduction of automated loading, unloading, and polishing of moulds.

Looking ahead

Titomic informed that the system will now be shipped for installation to Vetropack, Austria – a popular glass packaging manufacturer in Europe.

The installation of this cold spray system is expected to provide additional opportunity for systems sales within the international IPGR network. For every comparable machine sold, AUD 1.7 million worth of revenue is likely to be generated over a three-year period.

Titomic shares closed the trading session at A$0.170 on 20 May 2022.
