The problem of untreated wastewater is fast becoming a menace for the planet. Many industries discharge wastewater untreated, directly into the water bodies.
There is an urgent need to adopt environmental technologies that capture contaminants emitted during industrial processes and help businesses in better compliance with air and water emission requirements.
This is certainly important because there has been greater emphasis on economic goals over global environmental issues such as maintaining water and air quality near industrial sites.
“By 2030, improve water quality by reducing pollution, eliminating dumping and minimizing release of hazardous chemicals and materials, halving the proportion of untreated wastewater and substantially increasing recycling and safe reuse globally,” says a report by the United Nations.
To curb the global problem of wastewater treatment, Carbonxt (ASX:CG1) offers its patented HydRestor™ Technology, which is due to be presented at two major US water industry trade shows.

Carbonxt’s HydRestor™ Technology
The HydRestor™ technology is Carbonxt’s patented, 100% owned, high-quality pelletised activated carbon sorbent, specifically designed to decrease nutrient loading as well as phosphorus concentrations in waterphase applications.
The ready-to-use filter media is loaded into beds. After which water is passed through with necessary residence times required for the adsorption of phosphorus. The technology is formulated to target phosphorus removal from wastewater, stormwater, and industrial processes.

Large-scale commercial testing of HydRestor™ in Florida
In the March 2022 quarter, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection selected Carbonxt’s HydRestor™ pelletised activated carbon sorbent product as the treatment option for an Innovative Technology Grant.
The state department will fund a pilot testing worth AU$400,000. Under the research program, 8 million gallons (30 megalitres) of water will be treated over a four-month period to reclaim wastewater for irrigation activities.

Advantages of HydRestor™ activated carbon filtration system
The technology is a low-cost solution for water treatment as it is domestically produced. Moreover, Carbonxt offers this technology at low negotiated rates for its proprietary binders.
With this filtration system, the spent HydRestor™ media can be used as a slow-release soil amendment. Also, there can be environmental-friendly reuse of the captured nutrient phosphates.
Moreover, Carbonxt custom designs the HydRestor™ treatment system as per clients’ needs by its experienced engineering team.
CG1 shares traded at AU$0.175 on 21 June 2022, up over 16% from the last close.
