 Market Update: S&P/ASX200 Closed in Red on August 5, 2020: A Quick Look

On August 5, 2020, S&P/ASX200 ended the session in red as there was a fall of 0.60% to 6001.3 while All Ordinaries encountered a decline of 0.50% to 6135.9. On the same day, S&P/ASX 200 Materials (Sector) witnessed a rise of 0.69% to 14,568.0. We will now have a look at the performance of some individual stocks.

On August 5, 2020, the stock price of Mesoblast Limited (ASX: MSB) witnessed a rise of 4.369% on an intraday basis to A$4.300 per share. On the same day, the share price of Orocobre Limited (ASX: ORE) encountered an increase of 4.333% on an intraday basis to A$3.130 per share.

However, the stock price of General Capital Limited (NZX: GEN) fell by 9.91% to NZ$0.100 per share.

The company is also targeting higher returns. The company is committed towards maintaining an investment grade credit profile and it plans to simplify the debt funding structures over the span of next 18 months.

On August 5, 2020, the stock price of IPL witnessed a rise of 5.974% on an intraday basis to A$2.040 per share.

SBM Released Quarterly Report for the Period to June 30, 2020

On July 29, 2020, St Barbara Limited (ASX:SBM) released quarterly report for the period ended June 30, 2020, wherein, the company stated that gold production stood at 108,612 ounces as compared to 91,547 ounces in Q3 FY 2020. The company stated that FY 2020 consolidated gold production stood at 381,887 ounces, which was in line with the guidance of 370,000 ounces- 400,000 ounces.

The company has also provided some information on outlook. It was stated that, for FY 2021, consolidated gold production is expected to be in the range of 370,000 ounces- 410,000 ounces at an AISC of between A$1,360 per ounce- A$1,510 per ounce.

On August 5, 2020, the share price of SBM ended the session in green as there was an increase of 5.233% on an intraday basis to A$3.620 per share.
