As the market players are aware, the meeting hinted that the central bank would be patient when it comes to the interest rate hikes. The Federal Reserve’s hint of being patient when it comes to the hikes in interest rates was the most important news which the global market players were waiting for. There have been worries about the slowdown in global economic growth and, it can be said that these worries have severely impacted the sentiments of global investors. The increased tensions have the potential to prompt the investors to liquidate their investments which they have made in the equities.

The fears about the global economic slowdown were increased after the weakness in the Chinese economy was witnessed. Several Factors Influencing Oil Prices

The oil prices are sensitive to several macro-economic factors and these prices are also very sensitive to the financial markets’ movements. The worries about the downturn in the global economic growth pull down the oil prices. However, it can be said that if the trade war between the US and China ends on the permanent basis, it would substantially help the sentiments of the investors as well as financial markets which would further support the oil prices.
