Highlights
- BCA's Oakover Basin-based Wandanya tenement (E46/1407) is situated nearly 80km south of the Woodie Mn mine
- Two samples in close proximity have returned 52.9% and 54.3% manganese, while other samples ranged between 12.2% and 33.5% Mn
- BCA is planning further mapping, sampling and gradient array IP (GAIP) to generate drill targets
Australian-listed Black Canyon (ASX: BCA) -- having fully owned several exploration licences in the Balfour Manganese Field -- informs that reconnaissance mapping and rock chip sampling, which is already completed at its 100% owned Wandanya Project, revealed high-grade manganese (Mn) mineralisation. The E46/1407 tenement of BCA, situated on the eastern boundary of the Oakover Basin, has returned rock chip samples up to 54% Mn.
Two samples, which were taken 100 metres apart have returned 52.9% and 54.3% manganese, Black Canyon reports. Other samples ranged between 12.2% and 33.5% Mn.

Wandanya (E46/1407) Manganese Mineralisation
Publicly listed manganese explorer and developer Black Canyon has reported that the reconnaissance sampling at its Wandanya tenement identified high-grade surface rock chip samples. Two of the samples -- 100m apart and across strike -- have delivered 52.9% and 54.3% Mn. This high-grade manganese mineralisation encountered at the W2 prospect outcrops over 300m strike and is up to 150m wide.
Simultaneously, other samples from the tenement range between 12.2% and 33.5%. BCA has reported that no surface sampling in the past or historic drilling has been done over the outcropping mineralisation. Notably, the company's sampling program was part of the preliminary evaluation of Wandanya to determine the tenement's geological setting and potential for Mn mineralisation.

BCA has planned additional work to follow up the latest results, with mapping along strike to north.
Separately, it is also stated that mineralisation at the W2 prospect is mapped as a mixed manganese dominant ferruginised breccia. It is with some relict bedding and hosted by dolomite, BCA mentions.
Further work is planned to evaluate the significance of the discovery which will include the evaluation of sub-cropping manganese mineralisation interpreted to the north and along strike that extends discontinuously for a further 1 to 2km.
