Sprintex enters the China aquaculture industry via a three-year private-label agreement
Partnership with Guangdong-based BD Compressor focuses on energy-efficient blower technology
Exclusive distribution deal supports Sprintex’s clean-tech growth in South China’s aquaculture sector
Engineering and clean technology firm Sprintex Ltd (ASX:SIX), listed on the All Ordinaries index, has secured a new revenue stream through a private-label agreement targeting China's aquaculture market. The company’s strategic move is marked by a three-year exclusive partnership with Guangdong Baode Technology Co. Ltd. (BD Compressor), focused on the supply and distribution of Sprintex’s G15 series jet blowers.
This milestone agreement delivers Sprintex its first dedicated entry into aquaculture, the world’s largest farmed seafood industry by volume, with production centred in South China.
Private-Label Contract Establishes National Distribution
Under the agreement, Sprintex’s G15 jet blowers will be sold under the BD Compressor brand, exclusively for pond-based aquaculture systems in China. BD’s established nationwide distribution network is set to support the rollout of these blowers to farms across the region, commencing with an initial order scheduled for the September quarter.
The collaboration grants BD the rights to exclusively market Sprintex’s products within this specific aquaculture segment. The contract outlines a multi-phase purchasing schedule spanning three years, reinforcing long-term revenue certainty and production scale for Sprintex.
South China Aquaculture Sector Presents Major Commercial Scale
Guangdong Province, home to BD Compressor, leads China's aquaculture output and accounts for more than half of the nation’s farmed seafood production. Pond-based aquaculture facilities in the region commonly operate at high volume, with each farm requiring a substantial number of blower units to maintain water quality and aeration.
The scale and configuration of these sites support significant product deployment potential. Farms often operate with hundreds of pond sheds, creating a strong match for Sprintex’s scalable product suite and BD’s established market position.
Clean-Energy Blowers Support Industry's Efficiency Push
Sprintex’s G15 series features oil-free, energy-efficient air compression suited to environmental standards and regulatory expectations in China’s modern aquaculture sector. The high-efficiency performance is expected to align with regional trends prioritising sustainability, energy savings, and technological upgrades in seafood production.
Growing seafood demand, rising exports, and more stringent environmental requirements are driving adoption of advanced aeration solutions in China’s aquaculture industry, positioning Sprintex to support the evolving needs of the sector.
Sprintex Pursues Broader Clean-Tech Growth Strategy
Founded in Australia in 2003, Sprintex manufactures ultra high-speed electric motors and clean air compression systems. Its portfolio addresses various sectors, including wastewater treatment, pharmaceuticals, and automotive applications. The company is also advancing work on fuel cell compressors to support hydrogen and gas-based energy technologies.
