Phase 2 RC drilling completed at Cognac West, part of the Widgiemooltha Project
Drilling targeted high-grade quartz vein extensions at Anomaly A and B
Assay results expected in July with geological modelling updates underway
Dynamic Metals Ltd (ASX:DYM), a listed entity on the ASX 200 and All Ordinaries, has successfully concluded its Phase 2 reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Cognac West gold prospect. This prospect forms part of the company’s flagship Widgiemooltha Project in Western Australia, an area known for its gold and nickel endowment and strategic location between Norseman and Kambalda.
Phase 2 Campaign Reinforces Structural Understanding
The recently completed drilling program involved a total of nineteen RC drill holes aimed at expanding on the broad and high-grade gold intercepts encountered during Phase 1. These new drillholes were designed to deepen geological insights by targeting lateral and down-dip extensions of gold-bearing quartz veins, especially around previously identified anomalies.
Anomaly A and Anomaly B, the two main focus zones, were further assessed for structural repetitions and mineralised trends based on earlier results. The execution of the drilling campaign was acknowledged for its operational efficiency and geotechnical precision.
Anomaly A Targets High-Grade Quartz Vein Extensions
Eight drill holes were completed at Anomaly A, specifically targeting the down-dip extensions of a prominent quartz vein previously identified at surface. Historical assays from this vein included remarkably high readings, and recent drilling has defined a significant trend of gold anomalism extending across the target area.
The exploration team is particularly focused on verifying the continuation of this mineralisation to the west, which may indicate the boundary of a more extensive gold system. Early drilling outcomes point to encouraging indications of mineral continuity within fresh rock.
Anomaly B Expands Footprint of Gold Anomalism
At Anomaly B, eleven drill holes were completed, concentrating on the southernmost section of the drilling grid. This area has now outlined a broad zone of gold anomalism, showing notable mineralisation in fresh rock. Previous work in this location had already confirmed the presence of mineralised volcaniclastics, and the latest phase aims to consolidate structural data and continuity.
Hole WDR041 delivered particularly notable results, intersecting a high-grade section within a broader mineralised envelope. These findings support ongoing exploration efforts aimed at refining the geological model of the area.
Path Forward with Geological Modelling and Assay Returns
With the drilling phase concluded, the company is now focused on the next stages of analysis. Assay results from the recent campaign are expected to be received in July. Concurrently, mineralogical studies are in progress to enhance the understanding of the underlying geology and support model refinement.
This refined geological model will serve as a foundation for planning future exploration across the Widgiemooltha Project. The broader exploration portfolio of Dynamic Metals also includes projects prospective for commodities such as lithium, magnesite, and iron ore, reflecting a diverse approach to resource development.
As part of its active 2025 fieldwork strategy, Dynamic Metals continues to prioritise systematic exploration to support the development of its multi-commodity asset base.
