Astral Resources confirms high-grade gold zones at Theia
New exploration target identified to the west
In-fill drilling strengthens Stage 1 open pit confidence
Astral Resources confirms strong high-grade zones at Theia and uncovers a promising new western target, reinforcing the Mandilla Project’s development potential and supporting ongoing resource growth.
Astral Resources NL (ASX:AAR) has delivered another strong set of high-grade gold results from in-fill drilling at the Theia deposit within its Mandilla Gold Project near Kalgoorlie. The latest assays further reinforce the quality of the Stage 1 open pit area and have also highlighted a newly identified exploration target immediately west of Theia, adding fresh upside to the project’s growth profile.
The results form part of an extensive 99-hole in-fill program designed to tighten drill spacing and support the upgrade of resource confidence categories. With assays now received for the majority of holes, Astral Resources is progressing steadily toward enhancing the robustness of the Mandilla development plan.
How Is In-Fill Drilling Strengthening the Theia Deposit?
The current program focuses on the Stage 1 open pit area outlined in Astral’s June 2025 Pre-Feasibility Study. Drilled on a twelve-metre pattern, the work aims to refine geological continuity and ensure strong alignment with the existing Mineral Resource Estimate.
The latest results continue to demonstrate strong grade consistency across multiple holes, reinforcing confidence in the structural controls and mineralised zones that underpin the Theia deposit.
Several holes delivered wide, high-grade intersections, confirming the deposit’s ability to support the planned starter pit and its development assumptions.
Astral Resources noted that the results strongly correlate with the current resource model and support the potential upgrade of significant portions of the Stage 1 pit to Measured classification.
What Do the Latest Drilling Results Indicate?
The comprehensive drilling across Theia continues to highlight a combination of grade strength and geological continuity.
Several intervals reveal broad mineralised zones with internal higher-grade components, affirming the deposit’s strong internal consistency.
These results also underpin earlier interpretations that the Theia starter pit hosts robust mineralisation with favourable characteristics for early-stage production scenarios. As sampling progresses, Astral Resources continues to gain clarity around the distribution of gold within the host rocks, supporting ongoing development planning.
What Is the Significance of the Newly Identified Western Target?
Beyond confirming grade strength within the planned pit shell, Astral Resources has identified a promising new exploration target to the west of the Theia deposit.
This target sits within a structural corridor associated with historical and recent drilling trends.
While early-stage, the newly recognised target highlights additional growth potential for the Mandilla Project.
It provides an opportunity for future drilling to expand the resource footprint beyond the current confines of the Theia deposit, and to assess whether broader mineralised systems extend further into the western part of the project area.
How Do the Results Support Upcoming Development Work?
The consistent performance of in-fill drilling is expected to translate into strong support for upcoming resource updates and future economic studies.
By upgrading key areas from Indicated to Measured classification, Astral Resources can refine mine planning, enhance confidence in early-stage production schedules and reduce geological uncertainty.
As the remaining assays are received, the company will continue to integrate new data into its resource model, ensuring that the next stage of project development reflects the most complete geological information available.
What Comes Next for the Mandilla Project?
Astral Resources remains focused on completing the final stages of the in-fill drilling program while preparing for a detailed review of updated geological data.
Future exploration will include dedicated drilling at the newly identified western target, along with continued assessment of structural trends across the broader Mandilla Project.
With strong results continuing to emerge, the company is well positioned to refine its development planning and evaluate further opportunities to expand the project’s mineral inventory.
