Atomos Limited Launches Its Three New Products At NAB’s Las Vegas Show

Global video technology company, Atomos Limited (ASX:AMS) unboxes its three new products at the NAB 2019 show at Las Vegas. The products targeted at the rapidly growing social, pro-video and entertainment segments of the video market underscores the company’s objective to deliver groundbreaking products and disruptive technologies.

Its three new monitor-recorder products include Shinobi launched in March 2019, the Shogun VII and Shinobi SDI launched in April 2019. As flagged in the IPO prospectus, Atomos is targeting a doubling of its range of monitor-recorder products by the end of 2020.

The Shogun VII, the next generation model of Atomos’ Shogun Inferno is a 7-inch HDR monitor, recorder and switcher that integrates the highest quality HDR screen and latest technologies of any production monitor in the market. Atomos has launched the Shinobi SDI following the successful launch of the first Shinobi product in March 2019. The Shinobi SDI is a low-priced standalone monitor particularly aimed at the social video content creation market.

The company further announced the continued development of its strategic relationships after reaching a new license agreement with leading sound and display company Dolby and a collaboration with the world’s largest video marketplace business Pond5 for a new premium video offering focused on Apple ProRes RAW.

Atomos CEO Jeromy Young said: “The collaborations with Dolby Vision and Pond5 provide an improved offering for Atomos customers which the company anticipates will strengthen the value proposition of its products and underpin continued revenue growth.”

San Francisco-based, Dolby is a specialist in the science of sight and sound, with offices in more than 20 countries worldwide. Dolby Vision HDR brings extraordinary contrast, colour and brightness to the screen which is used in highest quality film and cinema productions to optimise the viewing experience.

Atomos has partnered with Dolby Vision to form a license agreement focused on meeting the high-end needs of the entertainment industry. With this arrangement in place, Atomos would be the first company worldwide to have access to Dolby’s algorithm for incorporation into recording and playback devices.

The company has also launched the AtomX SDI module, designed to attach to the rear of Atomos’ popular Ninja V product, enabling users to record and output video with SDI connectivity. Atomos anticipates a high attachment rate for this product with sales of its top-selling Ninja V.

Atomos, currently the exclusive producer of ProRes RAW capable monitor-recorders, has teamed with global video marketplace leader Pond5 to offer a new collection of royalty-free, licensable video filmed using Apple’s ProRes RAW codec.

This news led to the positive market sentiments on ASX as the stock price of Atomos Limited (AMS) surged up by 3.922% to last trade at $1.060 on 8 April 2019. The market capitalisation of the company stood at $155 million on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Over the past three months, AMS surged by 53.38% including a positive price change of 22.16% in the past one month.
