But what’s the buzz around? Well’s it’s a piece of big news for all the investors and video makers in the industry.

Today, Atomos Limited has unraveled the next progression in digital imaging with the launch of Apple ProRes RAW on its Ninja V Monitor recorder over HDMI.

Easy-to-use recorders maker Atomos Limited (ASX:AMS) announced at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show that it is coming up with the first ever video capturing technology for Apple ProRes RAW over HDMI.

That means Atomos’ Ninja V monitor recorder which was earlier only available for Shogun and Sumo product range over SDI connections are now capable of offering RAW video output over HDMI for the videos recorded from Nikon full frame mirrorless cameras.

Chief Executive Officer of Atomos Limited, Jeromy Young, said, this launch has accelerated the high-quality cinematic video for every platform from YouTube to Facebook to Netflix. Atomos customers will now be able to make high-end videos with the use of affordable tools required in the video-making process.

Atomos devices take high-level digital images ‘directly from the camera sensor’ like Nikon (Z6 and Z7) in this case, then enhances its quality, records and distributes them for content creation on-board. The capturing of Apple ProRes RAW video with the Ninja V has now enabled an advanced level of professional control, quality, the color accuracy of the video image with edit-ready formats.

In collaboration with Nikon, Atomos Limited has also floated the launch of “Filmmaker’s kit,” a complete package required for high-end cinematic video making. It comprises of Atomos’ Ninja V monitor/ recorder, full-frame Nikon Z 6 camera, and other essential accessories. This affordable-priced is expected to be out in US market by the end of January 2019.

These developments by Atomos forms the critical part of the company’s core-objective to achieve growth in ‘Social’ and ‘Pro Video’ segments of the video market. Social includes the target audience of content creators, prosumers, and the elementary-level professionals who are working on content creation to get it published on free media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube.

Mr. Young added, so far, the RAW video has been just for limited-feature cinema cameras that are usually priced beyond the reach of many consumers. But now Atomos and Nikon have equipped the social content creators with the same quality and flexibility in the video that they would have come to expect from RAW photos at affordable prices.

Along with better image quality, Atomos commits to continue giving amazing features like autofocus and high megapixels stills in order to preserve the maximum creativity.

Atomos Limited got listed on Australian Securities Exchange in December 2018. Since then, AMS stock price has gone up 29%, but in the past 5-day trade, the stock fell by 26.29%.
