Archer Exploration Announced Successful Spherical Graphite Production: AXE Shares Surged Up By 5.714% On ASX

Archer Exploration Limited (ASX:AXE) notified, that it has successfully demonstrated the processing of graphite material, from its 100% owned Campoona deposit, into spherical graphite product.

The Spherical graphite was produced from Campoona graphite materials of uniform 40-micron flake size of 99%+ and 95% total carbon content (TCC), using small-scale (kilogram quantity) mechanical milling processes.

The spherical graphite products were produced with a particle size centred around 15-microns with a narrow size distribution (i.e. D90/10 ratio of less than 3). Nonoptimized processes, were also employed to produce spherical graphite material, with uniform particle sizes ranging from 8-microns to 18-microns, with broader size distributions. These structural properties of the spherical graphite were produced, to meet a key established market requirement, for use in anode materials componentry in lithium-ion battery applications.

Spherical graphite materials signify a high-value (US$3,400 to US$4,400 per tonne) materials entry point for high-volume anode componentry. It is utilised in the global Lithium-ion battery sector and has been predicted to progress to US$130 billion by 2018, with the development concentrated in the Asia Pacific region.

Archer will test the purification of the post-processed materials, and their suitability for integration in full- and half-cell lithium-ion batteries, to enable the downstream screening, and qualification of potential off-take partners and end users.

On 21 August 2018, the company announced, the outcome of the association among Archer and The University of New South Wales, related to the development and implementation of AXE’s Campoona graphite, for the utilisation in commercially relevant lithium-ion batteries. The full-cell lithium-ion batteries, which are useful and commercially scalable, combined the AXE’s Campoona graphite were effectively amassed and confirmed for performance.

On 4 March 2019, the company announced, the outcomes from the reverse circulation drilling program, at the Katniss and Hawkeye prospects, which is a part of AXE’s Blue Hills Copper-gold Project, situated around 240 km north of Adelaide, South Australia.

The company announced, that it had registered a provisional patent, with the Australian Patent Office, including intellectual property, relating to graphene ink compositions, methods of synthesising the inks, and the use of the inks for biomolecular sensing.

AXE released a decent set of H1FY19 results, ending 31 December 2018.

Previously, on 8 February 2019, the company notified the market, that the condition precedent to the settlement under the contract, for the sale of Sugarloaf farmland had been settled.

On 7 February 2019, AXE updated the market, on the reverse circulation (RC) drilling program, at the Hood Prospect, which is a part of the company’s Blue Hills Copper-Gold Project, based around 240km north of Adelaide, South Australia. AXE had notified the market, about the completion of RC drilling at the Blue-Chip Copper-Gold Project.

At the end of the trading session, the stock of the company, stood at A$0.074 (as on 12 March 2019), up by 5.714% from its previous close. It has a market capitalization of approximately A$13.44 million, with 192.02 million shares outstanding. The stock has generated a return of 7.69% in the last 3 months.
