The International Energy Agency anticipates the global energy investment to decline by ~ 20 per cent or USD 400 billion in 2020, which would mark its biggest fall on record.

  • IEA also suggested that there could be some serious repercussions on investment in energy security and the transition to clean energy.
  • As per the IEA assessment, the global energy investment remained on track with a 2 per cent increase in 2020 on a yearly basis as compared to the previous year investment of USD 1.8 trillion, which remained highest in the past six years.
