Jupiter Fund Management PLC (LSE
) has experienced significant outflows from its investment products in the last three months, with total outflows reaching £1.6 billion for the quarter ending September 30, 2024. This brings the total outflows for the year to date to £5 billion.
As a result of these outflows, total assets under management (AUM) declined to £50.1 billion, down from £51.3 billion at the end of June. Excluding outflows from its Value team and a recent management change at Chrysalis Investment Trust, Jupiter reported total underlying net outflows of £200 million over the first nine months of the year.
The Value team alone accounted for £1.1 billion in net outflows, leaving £4.9 billion in AUM and £2.3 billion in segregated mandates. Jupiter indicated that it anticipates most, if not all, of these segregated mandates will be redeemed by the end of the year, further impacting AUM.
On a more positive note, Jupiter reported inflows of £400 million into its Indian equities products, with total AUM in this area now standing at £2.9 billion. Additionally, total AUM in Jupiter’s Asian and emerging market equities capability saw an increase from £6.2 billion to £6.9 billion.
Furthermore, the recent acquisition of £0.8 billion in AUM from Origin is expected to enhance Jupiter's scale in global emerging markets. This strategic move reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position in high-growth areas, even as it navigates the challenges posed by significant outflows from other segments. The firm’s focus on expanding its capabilities in Asian and emerging markets may serve as a critical component of its strategy moving forward.
