Oriole Resources PLC, an company is listed with AIM Stocks has announced the discovery of a new mineralised zone within its Bibemi project in Cameroon. The newly identified area, named Lawa West, has yielded promising results from recent sampling.
The sampling at Lawa West produced 17 rock chip samples with grades exceeding 0.5 grammes per tonne (g/t) gold from quartz vein material. Notable results include grades of 54.50 g/t Au and 38.40 g/t Au. This discovery significantly extends the mineralised strike length at Bibemi, with mapping showing an extension to 6 kilometres. This increase brings the total mineralised trend at Bibemi to 17 kilometres.
The exploration at Bibemi is supported by partner BCM International, which is funding up to US$4 million in exploration activities. In return, BCM International can earn up to a 50% interest in the project.
Martin Rosser, Chief Executive of Oriole Resources (LSE:AIM), commented on the findings: “The results from Lawa West are encouraging as they significantly expand the potential mineralised corridor length of the prospect, and the overall system at Bibemi. More broadly, this development bodes well for the discovery of additional sources of mineralised material on the project licence, which could potentially be processed at a central mineral processing plant at Bibemi.”
The identification of Lawa West adds to the growing potential of the Bibemi project, which has already been the focus of extensive exploration efforts. The new findings are expected to contribute to the overall understanding of the mineralised system at the project, supporting ongoing and future exploration activities.
Oriole Resources continues to advance its exploration and development efforts at Bibemi, with the goal of further defining and expanding the mineral resources in the region. The positive results from Lawa West reflect the company’s commitment to exploring and developing its projects to enhance value and growth in the sector.
