Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) saw its share price jump 33.3% to AUD 0.002 in early trading on 2 July 2025, following an update on its reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Yidby Gold Project.

The company has been making steady progress with its drilling operations, with the current phase focusing on the Marshall and Fender prospects.

To date, 15 drill holes have been completed, totalling 1,909m. Drilling has uncovered new zones of sulphide mineralisation hosted in quartz porphyry, including a notable 65m interval of continuous disseminated sulphides in hole YBRC128 from a depth of 120m. The sulphide minerals identified include pyrite and chalcopyrite, with estimated concentrations reaching up to 10%.

Sample Submission and Assay Results

Samples were collected at one-metre intervals from each drill hole, with composite samples taken every four metres for the initial round of assays. A total of 284 samples have already been submitted to the laboratory, with additional samples expected to be submitted in the coming days.

Initial assay results from the laboratory are expected within the next few weeks.

RC Drilling and Plans Ahead

The 42-hole RC drilling program aimed at testing targets based on the extensions and infill to the main gold-bearing zones at Yidby. The program also targets strike extensions of previously identified wide intercepts at the Fender and Marshall prospects. Additional targets include structural interpretation identified through magnetic and gravity surveys, as well as a prominent surface geochemical zone at the Money Anomaly, located in close proximity to the Yidby.

The drill rig has now moved from the Marshall and Fender prospects to the main Yidby Gold Zone. Once drilling at Yidby is complete, operations will proceed to the Money Anomaly.
