FTSE 100 remains range-bound ahead of inflation number on Wednesday

US Markets: Broder US indices are trading in the green during the morning trading session. S&P 500 index traded higher by 15 points at 4,500, Dow Jones Industrial Average Index is up by 81 points at 35,338, and the technology benchmark index Nasdaq Composite traded higher at 15,059, up by 35 points against the previous day close. (At the time of writing – 10:15 AM ET).

US Market News: Shares of Procter & Gamble (PG) declined by 1.1% in the opening hour of the market despite reporting good revenue, which was above the consensus market estimate.

Shares of Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) rose by over 1% after it raised its full-year guidance following higher quarterly profits. Shares of Halliburton (HAL) declined by 1% after its quarterly revenue fell short of market expectations.

UK Market News: The UK market is traded in a narrow range ahead of the all-important inflation data, which will be declared tomorrow. The UK government has signed a £400 million deal with Breakthrough Energy Ventures, which has Bill Gates as the key investor. The UK government and venture fund will both invest in technologies that will help fight climate change. Each party will contribute £200 million over the next ten years.

Moneysupermarket.com Group Plc (LON: MONY): Shares of the digital service provider was up by over 8% after it announced the acquisition of Maple Syrup Media Ltd, which operates in the consumer cashback business for initial cash consideration of £87 million and further £14 million as deferred.

                     

Global Markets rose on upbeat corporate earnings

 

RHI Magnesita N.V. (LON: RHIM): shares of the Specialty Chemical maker was up over 7% following the announcement of its third-quarter trading update. The company witnessed strong demand for its products during the period.

International Consolidated Airlines Group (LON: IAG): Shares of the passenger airlines company was down for the second consecutive day. The stock price declined by over 4.5% as investors fear reducing profitability and revenue in the airlines sector due to lockdown.
