US Markets: Broder US indices are showing a weaker trend amid fear of a new variant of coronavirus. S&P 500 future was down by 1.6%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell by 2.11%. The technology heavy index Nasdaq Composite future was down by 0.9% in early Friday morning trends.

UK Market News: The UK stock market is trading deep in red, with blue-chip index FTSE100 down by 2.72%, while the mid-cap focused FTSE 250 index down by 2.21%. The UK stock market was down along with other European markets after South Africa, and other countries reported a new variant of coronavirus. As per the initial media report, the new variant is highly transmissible and evade vaccines.

International Consolidated Airlines Group (LON: IAG): The share price of the passenger airlines company was down by over 15% with a day’s low of GBX 122.06, after the investors decided to sell-off over the fear of a rise in coronavirus cases in Europe, which might lead to another lockdown like scenario impacting the company’s revenue.

Novacyt S.A. (LON: NCYT): Share of the medical equipment company was up by over 28% after the company’s real-time PCR test was approved in the UK by the Health Security Agency. The company plans to resume sales of its product soon in the UK.

Bonhill Group Plc (LON:BONH): Share of the B2B business service provider was down by over 20%, with a day’s low of GBX 8.75 after the company announced its business update. The company expects weaker digital sales in the US market, leading to a decline in share price.
