Rio Tinto Plc starts the process of resuming operations at Richards Bay Minerals

  Rio Tinto Plc (LON: RIO) has started the process of resuming operations at Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) in South Africa.
  • The company has reported that following discussions led by the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Sihle Zikalala, involving all stakeholders to resume operations, it started the operation resumption on 30 December 2019.
  • Richards Bay Minerals is expected to return to full operations in early January and the regular production in the early part of the year.
  • On 30th December 2019, at the time of writing, GMT 08:01 AM, RIO shares were trading at GBX 4,534.00, down by 14.50 points or 0.32% against the previous day closing price.
