Rising Australian star Josie Baff has finished the World Cup season in the best possible way with victory in the final snowboard cross event of the season in Canada.
Baff, 20, opened and closed the season with World Cup triumphs, collecting five medals in total while also claiming the silver medal on debut at the world championships.
The Jindabyne local finished third on the overall World Cup standings and will now turn her attention to the world junior championships in Italy next weekend.
In the big-final at Mont Sainte Anne on Sunday (Monday AEDT), Baff moved into the lead just after the top section and held off the other competitors to claim her second World Cup win.
"It's awesome, my wax tech at the top said, 'You know what - you won the first race, why don't you win the last?'," said Baff.
"I had a good start for the first time today, I wasn't sure what to do when leading the pack, but I just tried to stay calm, and patient and it worked.
"I was just hoping none of the girls would out-draught me down the finish straight."
Britain's Charlotte Bankes claimed the overall World Cup title on 723 points, ahead of Chloe Trespeuch from France (650) and Baff (493).
In further good news for the star-studded Australian snowboard squad, teen sensation Valentino Guseli picked up the Crystal Globe for the overall World Cup winner after another impressive showing in Silvaplana, Switzerland.
In a historic season, Guseli became the first snowboarder to record podium performances in the same season in three separate disciplines - big air, slopestyle, and halfpipe.
On the final standings, Guseli won the Crystal Globe in big air, was second in halfpipe and third in slopestyle.
