Australian veteran Joe Ingles has played his best game since recovering from his ACL injury and joining the Milwaukee Bucks, who came from behind to defeat the New York Knicks 111-107.
No Buck had more influence on the score at Madison Square Garden on Monday night than Ingles, who joined the side on a one-year deal this season following his ACL injury playing for Utah last January.
In a four-point win, the visitors outscored the Knicks by 14 points while Ingles (17 points, five assists) was on the floor.
The only Buck to score more was two-time league MVP Giannias Antetokounmpo (22 points, 10 rebounds).
Milwaukee were down by as many as 17 points in the third quarter before Ingles hit three baskets from deep to help his side wrangle back the ascendancy.
It was the third of those Ingles triples that gave the Bucks the lead for the first time since early in the second quarter.
After a well-earned rest, Ingles re-entered in the final four minutes and promptly sent up an ally-oop for Antetokounmpo, who tied the game at 94-94.
After his 38-point effort against San Antonio last week, Knicks guard Jalen Brunson outdid himself with a career-high 44 points but could not secure a win as the Bucks kept their mojo up from deep and held on for a win.
Elsewhere, Australian Dyson Daniels had a quiet night for the New Orleans Pelicans, who thrashed Washington 132-112.
Daniels started the second half after Herb Jones went down with a lower back contusion but the Australian rookie finished with a modest six rebounds, four points and two assists to his name.
Jayson Tatum had 32 points for the Boston Celtics in a 107-99 win over Chicago that consolidates the Bostonians' spot atop the Eastern Conference standings.
The Bulls threatened to close the gap after Boston started the final quarter 11 points up but when Tatum streaked away and dunked in the final 20 seconds, it was all over.
Elsewhere, the young San Antonio Spurs' tough season continued with a 121-113 loss to Memphis.
