Big WBBL day for Schutt and Harris

Adelaide Strikers' Megan Schutt and Brisbane Heat's Laura Harris celebrated milestones as their sides drew level with the Sydney Sixers on points in a top-of-the-table logjam in the WBBL.

Standing in as skipper for injured allrounder Tahlia McGrath, veteran bowler Schutt (4-20) reached the 100-wicket mark In the WBBL and had a catch dropped, as Adelaide restricted Perth Scorchers to 9-119 at Lilac Hill.

West Indian Deandra Dottin scored her WBBL high of 68 off 51 balls to set up a seven-wicket win with four overs to spare to lift Adelaide to 12 points, second behind the Sixers on net run rate.

Noted power hitter Dottin scored just 21 off her first 26 balls but cut loose with three fours off spinner Lily King just before the mid-innings break and then smashed 18 in the first of the power surge overs, as Adelaide reached their target with four overs to spare.

Perth lost two quick wickets on three occasions with Scorchers and Australia star Beth Mooney following her 99 not out in Saturday's win over the Sixers with a golden duck.

Jemma Barsby (3-22) struck twice in the first over and Perth managed just a modest total despite 37 and 36 respectively from New Zealanders Sophie Devine and Maddy Green.

Harris celebrated her 100th WBBL appearance with an unforgettable maiden WBBL 50 to hoist the Heat to a four wicket win over the Hobart Hurricanes at Blundstone Oval and third place on net run rate.

Chasing 165, Brisbane were struggling at 4-65 in the 12th over, but Harris blasted nine fours and three sixes in a spectacular unbeaten 68 off 29 balls, with the Heat winning with two balls to spare.

Harris reached her 50 off just 18 deliveries, only two more than the new record of 16 set by the Melbourne Stars' Tess Flintoff last Wednesday.

Harris, who had scored just 42 from her seven previous innings this season, and New Zealand allrounder. Amelia Kerr (41 off 33), pounded 87 in six and a half overs.

Hobart were 3-20 but South African batter Mignon du Preez scored 73 not out off 54 balls, as the Hurricanes smashed 79 off their last six overs to finish on 7-164.

Perth are fourth, one point behind the top three and four ahead of the Hurricanes, who have played two games less than the Scorchers.

The Hurricanes need to beat the Renegades in Hobart on Monday evening to stay in touch with the top four.

Renegades captain Sophie Molineux produced her biggest innings of the WBBL season to guide her side to a five wicket win over fellow stragglers Sydney Thunder in the second of Sunday's games in Hobart.

Chasing 122 at Blundstone Oval, the Renegades were struggling at 3-30 in the fifth over.

Molineux, who had scored just 60 runs from her seven previous innings, made an unbeaten 55 off 45 balls, as the Renegades won with two overs left.

England's Amy Jones scored a season-best 53 off 48 balls but she lacked support, scoring five of Thunder's nine boundaries In their total of 6-121.

The win broke a six-match losing streak and lifted the Renegades off the bottom while relegating Thunder to last, with Sydney having played two more games.
