It’s been a strong week for cryptocurrency with the world’s premier crypto – Bitcoin – finally cracking the US$55,000 mark.

As Bitcoin’s fate usually trickles down to many other digital currencies on the market, there have been many which have made impressive gains throughout the week.

So which cryptocurrencies have achieved the most growth in the past seven days?

Let’s take a look.

Shiba Inu +218%

By far the biggest performer this week, Shiba Inu (SHIB)! has grown a whopping 218% in the past seven days.

As Shiba Inu is one of the dog-inspired memecoins, along with Floki, Baby Doge and, of course, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu benefited from tweets from Tesla billionaire and dog lover, Elon Musk.

Last Sunday, the eccentric space adventure tweeted a picture of his Shiba Inu puppy, who he named Floki, to Twitter. This resulted in a price hike for both Dogecoin and Shiba Inu marking yet another example of the influence Musk has over this niche of digital currency.

Shiba Inu currently sits at US$0.00002292 as of October 8 at 5:40 PM AEDT.

Fantom + 82%

Also making considerable gains, Fantom (FTM) has grown 82% this week, making it the second biggest grower in the past seven days.

Fantom experienced growth for the entire month of August, and it reached an all-time high of $1.93 on Sept. 9, 2021.

Immediately following this peak, Fantom took a dive to around US$0.99 on September 22. Since then, it’ has more than doubled in price, with a considerable jump of 60% in the last two days. SHIB is currently priced at US$2.24 as of October 8, 2021 at 5:40 PM AEDT.

Axie Infinity +61.59%

Axie Infinity (AXS) has been one of the most consistently good performers this year and has added to its incredible 2021 with gains of 59% in the past seven days to reach US$122.3 on 8 October at 5:40 PM AEDT.

The NFT gaming company reporting more than 1.8 million daily users in August with daily sales volume reaching as high as US$33 million.

According to Axie Infinity’s research and data team, CryptoSlam, since the game’s launch in March 2018, total sales volume is now close to US$2.3 billion.

The past month has seen AXS explode with an accelerated growth from September 20, which has seen its price more than double to US$121.82.

Arweave + 57%

Storage network Arweave (AR) added to its incredible run since July with a growth of 43%.

After sinking to its lowest point since February, Arweave sat at US$7.25 on July 21, 2021. Since then, it has skyrocketed to US$61.70, representing an astounding 855% in around two and a half months.

Arweave has grown 57% in the past seven days with its price reaching US$68.78 on 8 October 5:40 PM AEDT.

Klaytn +39.42%

It’s been a good week for the public blockchain after following a period of decline from late August to late September.

Klaytn (KLAY)has grown 43% in the past seven days with its price reaching US$1.56 on 8 October 5:40 PM AEDT.

Despite losing around 80% of its value from April to July this year, Klaytn has still made good returns so far this year.

On January 1, KLAY was valued at US$0.49 and today it’s valued at US$1.56, making its year-to-date returns over 200%.
