Australia can come back stronger, more resilient, and more self-reliant, believes Anthony Albanese, the Leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and Member of Parliament for Grayndler.
The 2022 Australian federal election, which is going to be a crucial event for the future of the country, pits Prime Minister Scott Morrison against Anthony Albanese, who is a prominent leader from the opposition party.
Albanese, the man hoping to be Australia's next Prime Minister, has been voicing his opinions against the ruling party loud and clear ahead of the federal election due in May. He has been spruiking his vision of a better way of living for Aussies.
In the words of Anthony Albanese, “My vision is an Australia where everyone has the opportunity to work and enjoys the benefits of a job. But not just any job – good, well-paying jobs that are safe and secure.”

Albanese’s political journey so far…
From beginning his association with the ALP as a member in 1979 to being the Leader of the party today, Anthony Albanese has come a long way forward over the years.
He was first elected to the House of Representatives for Grayndler, New South Wales in 1996. Since then, he has been re-elected multiple times in following years, in 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019.
He has also served at several ministerial positions, including a three-month stint as Deputy Prime Minister in 2013.

Earlier in life, Albanese completed his Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and worked as a bank officer from 1980 to 1981.
He has also served as a Research Officer to the Minister for Local Government and Administrative Services, the Hon. T Uren, MP from 1985 to 1989. Later, he was appointed as the Senior Policy Adviser to the Premier, the Hon. R Carr (NSW) from 1995 to 1996.

How does Albanese aim to serve Australia better than the Morrison government?
The Abbott-Turnbull-Morrison government has been ruling Australia for a decade now. Albanese and his party criticise the government for putting the needs of Aussies on the backburner.
Labor leader Albanese is of the opinion that Australia needs the leadership, which is willing to do the hard work and invest in people. He said the country needs a government with a plan, claiming that Labor Party just has that – “real plans” to deliver a stronger tomorrow.
He has promised to ensure Australians a better life and offer them well-paid jobs.
Albanese has said that the Labor Party will be working to strengthen Medicare, making childcare more affordable, closing gender pay gap, making housing cheaper, and improving aged care system. The party has many other agendas including energy and climate change, and better economic and social opportunities.

Anthony Albanese has been in the Australian Parliament for over two decades. His party has focused its agendas on cost of living, aged care, pandemic, science, local manufacturing, economic growth, energy and climate change, equality for women, and several other key priorities.
