Highlights

  • Promising Helium and Gas Findings: Testing at Nooitgedacht Major revealed helium concentrations of 5.6% and methane levels of 83.2%, affirming the asset's resource potential.

  • Market Boost: D3 Energy shares rose by over 18% on Wednesday.

D3 Energy Limited (ASX:D3E) (OTCQB:DNRGF) has reported encouraging results from its production testing program at Nooitgedacht Major, a legacy borehole located in South Africa’s Free State Province. This testing is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to assess the resource potential of its ER315 project.

Key Results from Nooitgedacht Major Testing

The company’s production testing at Nooitgedacht Major has yielded an average flow rate of 102 Mscfd over the first 7 days of the 14-day test period. Preliminary gas sample analysis by a SANAS-accredited laboratory revealed helium concentrations of 5.6% and methane levels at 83.2%, underscoring the site’s potential as a significant helium and natural gas resource.

This follows the successful testing of RBD01, which demonstrated world-class helium concentrations of 6.2% and provided valuable data on reservoir deliverability. Together, these results highlight the prospectivity of D3 Energy’s ER315 asset and its potential to become a leading helium and natural gas producer.

Strategic Importance of the Program

The Nooitgedacht Major testing is a vital component of D3 Energy’s systematic exploration and appraisal strategy, designed to maximize the resource potential of the ER315 license area. The data collected will play a crucial role in understanding reservoir behavior, including well interference and spacing, to inform future drilling campaigns.

This approach aligns with the company’s vision to establish itself as a key player in the global helium market, leveraging South Africa’s unique geological potential for helium-rich deposits.

Market Reaction

Following the announcement, D3 Energy’s shares surged 18%, trading at 7.7 cents per share on 15 January 2025. Investors appear optimistic about the company’s progress in developing its ER315 asset, buoyed by the promising helium and natural gas results from its latest testing programs.

The next steps for D3 Energy include completing the Nooitgedacht Major testing program and refining its development strategy for ER315.
