Terra Metals (ASX:TM1) has made notable advancements at its Dante Reefs discovery in Western Australia, reinforcing its position in the critical minerals sector. Recent findings confirm the continuity and scale of the discovery, revealing consistent Bushveld-style mineralisation comprising copper, gold, platinum group metals (PGMs), titanium, and vanadium. This discovery is part of the Jameson Layered Intrusion, which shares geological characteristics with South Africa’s renowned Bushveld Complex, one of the largest sources of PGMs and vanadium globally. Such comparisons underscore the global significance of the Dante Reefs project.
The latest assays from phase one diamond drilling and phase two reverse circulation (RC) infill drilling have showcased promising results, indicating the potential for the area to host a substantial sulphide deposit. During the first phase of diamond drilling, significant intercepts included 7.7 metres containing 0.27% copper, 0.67 g/t PGE3, 18.4% titanium, and 0.68% vanadium from 86 metres, with a higher-grade interval of 1.9 metres yielding 0.42% copper, 1.01 g/t PGE3, 26.5% titanium, and 0.91% vanadium. Similarly, phase two RC drilling delivered 5 metres grading 0.86 g/t PGE3, 0.26% copper, 19.2% titanium, and 0.78% vanadium from 12 metres, alongside other strong results indicating the presence of critical minerals near the surface.
The Dante Reefs discovery continues to strengthen Terra Metals' confidence in the region's resource potential. The company has emphasized the geological similarities between the discovery and the Bushveld Complex, bolstering optimism for further exploration. These similarities suggest that the Dante Reefs may host a globally significant deposit of critical minerals essential for modern industrial applications.
Terra Metals (TM1) is moving forward with metallurgical test work to evaluate the discovery's commercial viability. Updates on these efforts are expected in 2025. In the meantime, the company is maintaining a methodical exploration program with assays from an additional 68 drill holes, including 60 RC and eight diamond drill holes, still pending. The objective is to expand the resource further and solidify the project’s scale.
Managing Director Thomas Line noted that consistent results from the Dante Reefs project reinforce the significance of the discovery. The exploration program continues to uncover mineralisation of copper, PGMs, and high-grade titanium and vanadium in a tier-1 mining jurisdiction. These findings position Terra Metals as a key contributor to the critical minerals market, addressing the growing global demand for resources like vanadium and PGMs.
