Highlights
- Rogozna’s resource estimate rises to 6.69Moz gold equivalent
- Medenovac prospect adds 1.3Moz gold equivalent with high-grade mineralization
- Six-rig drilling campaign set to begin, targeting further resource expansion
Strickland Metals (ASX:STK) has significantly expanded its mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the Rogozna gold and base metals project in Serbia, now reaching 6.69 million ounces gold equivalent. The latest boost comes from a maiden MRE for the Medenovac prospect, highlighting the growing scale and quality of the project.
New Resource Discovery at Medenovac
The Medenovac prospect, first identified in 2020, has now been officially added to the overall resource base. The maiden MRE confirms 1.3 million ounces gold equivalent, with an impressive average grade of 1.9g/t. This discovery follows multiple high-grade drilling results, including a 352.1m intercept of continuous gold and base metals mineralization at the core of the deposit.
The Rogozna project, covering 184 square kilometers, consists of four exploration licenses and continues to prove its resource expansion potential. The initial project-wide MRE stood at 5.41Moz gold equivalent, making the latest increase a strong indicator of continued growth.
High Exploration Returns & Future Prospects
With a discovery cost of just US$3 per ounce gold equivalent, the Medenovac prospect underscores the efficiency of exploration efforts at Rogozna. The deposit delivers approximately 6,800 ounces of gold equivalent per vertical meter, further enhancing the project’s development flexibility.
This growth aligns with Strickland’s broader plans, particularly when combined with the Shanac and Gradina deposits, both of which contribute to Rogozna’s large-scale mineralization potential.
Major Drilling Campaign & Updated Resource Estimates
Strickland is gearing up for an extensive six-rig drilling campaign next month, with a focus on expanding resources further. An updated MRE for the Shanac deposit, currently estimated at 4.63Moz gold equivalent, is scheduled for release by March 2025. Additionally, a maiden MRE for the Gradina deposit is expected in the second half of the year.
Historical Significance & Global Potential
The Rogozna project carries a rich history of exploration, dating back to Roman times. Over 100,000 meters of diamond drilling, along with extensive geophysical and geochemical studies, have helped define over 20 exploration targets across the site.
With continued resource growth, upcoming drilling campaigns, and multiple development milestones ahead, Rogozna is gaining increasing prominence on the global stage.
