  • Strategic Energy Resources acquires extensive gold exploration area.
  • Bulimba Gold Project holds potential for significant gold discoveries.
  • Initial exploration strategies set for later this year.

Strategic Energy Resources Ltd (ASX:SER) has announced its acquisition of the Bulimba Gold Project, situated in the gold-rich region of Northeast Queensland. This acquisition includes four exploration licenses spanning over 1,315 square kilometers. The Bulimba Gold Project aims to explore Intrusion Related Gold Systems (IRGS), a geologically promising category similar to the nearby notable deposits at Red Dome and Mungana.

The region is recognized as a junction of major lithospheric structures, an environment typically conducive for hosting significant IRGS deposits. Historical surface geochemistry has already shown signatures that are consistent with these types of systems, marking the area as highly prospective for gold exploration.

Strategic Energy Resources is currently in the process of securing land access, which will enable them to begin detailed surface mapping, soil sampling, and targeted geophysical surveys. These initial steps are critical for assessing the potential mineral wealth of the area and refining exploration targets.

Managing Director Dr. David DeTata commented on the strategic importance of this acquisition. "The Bulimba Project was identified back in 2020 as a part of our continuous quest to uncover major discoveries in Australia’s less-explored mineralized extensions. We have been awaiting the availability of this land, which sits in a region home to over 20 million ounces of gold endowment. This project is a key part of our strategy to find the next generation of gold deposits in this prolific area," he explained. The team at Strategic Energy Resources has completed a geophysical review and is eager to finalize landholder access within this quarter to pave the way for meaningful fieldwork slated for later this year.

The next steps for the company involve negotiating further land access agreements and initiating the first phase of reconnaissance mapping and geochemical sampling. Additionally, the company plans to employ innovative techniques such as magnetic remanence studies to identify and prioritize magnetic anomalies, which could potentially indicate lucrative exploration targets.

This proactive approach in securing and planning the exploration of the Bulimba Gold Project underscores Strategic Energy Resources' commitment to expanding its portfolio and enhancing its potential for high-value gold discoveries.
