- Drilling at Theia yields an unprecedented 1,079 gram-metres in a single hole
- Strong correlation with existing mineralization models underpins upcoming resource update
- Ongoing diamond and aircore programs at Feysville aim to uncover new structural targets
Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) reported exceptional results from two diamond drill holes, MDRCD917 and MDRCD918, at the Theia deposit in Western Australia, part of the Mandilla Gold Project. These assays collectively delivered 1,079 gram-metres in a single hole and demonstrated strong alignment with the current mineral resource estimate model, supporting an upgrade to higher-confidence resource categories. Hole MDRCD918 returned multiple standout intervals, such as 1 metre at 223.3 g/t gold from 15 metres, 0.95 metres at 227.6 g/t from 197.25 metres, 2.4 metres at 169.1 g/t from 225 metres, and 24.9 metres at 4.14 g/t from 362 metres, among several other notable hits. Hole MDRCD917 delivered 72.2 metres at 1.15 g/t gold from 326 metres, with higher-grade sections including 0.3 metres at 34.9 g/t from 328.35 metres and 0.62 metres at 25.6 g/t from 396 metres. The four-hole December 2024 diamond drilling program averaged 401 gram-metres when the reported mineralized intersections along each hole were aggregated. Work on an updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) by Cube Consulting is in progress, paving the way for detailed mine design and scheduling for an anticipated pre-feasibility study at Mandilla. Additional drilling is underway at the Feysville Project, where a three-hole, 350-metre diamond program aims to refine understanding of high-grade gold controls at the Kamperman deposit while collecting metallurgical samples. That effort will be followed by a 17-hole, 1,610-metre geotechnical campaign at Kamperman, Rogan Josh, and Think Big deposits. An aircore drilling program, initiated on January 20, includes six lines over 4.3 line-kilometres on the Central Feysville Anticline and four lines over 1.7 line-kilometres on the southern tenements. Initial reverse circulation assays at Feysville’s Kamperman deposit returned up to 6 metres at 1.04 g/t gold from 114 metres of depth. The ongoing exploration activity underscores the potential for new discoveries and more robust resource upgrades across Astral Resources’ project areas.
