Highlights

  • Significant high-grade Rare Earth Element (REE) mineralisation confirmed
  • Heavy REE enrichment strengthens project’s strategic potential
  • Metallurgical studies progressing with European research collaborations

Prospech Limited (ASX:PRS) has reported promising assay results from its ongoing exploration at the Korsnäs project, reinforcing the project’s potential as a key Rare Earth Element (REE) asset in Europe. The latest findings confirm the continuity of high-grade REE mineralisation, with Total Rare Earth Oxides (TREO) concentrations reaching up to 4.6%, further strengthening the strategic importance of the site.

High-Grade Assays Confirm Strong REE Potential

The recent assay results highlight extensive mineralisation at depth and along strike, providing substantial exploration upside. Among the key findings, notable heavy REE enrichment was observed, with Terbium (Tb₄O₇) concentrations reaching 61.3 ppm and Dysprosium (Dy₂O₃) recorded at 234.2 ppm. These elements are crucial in high-performance magnets used in electric vehicles and renewable energy applications, enhancing the project’s economic significance.

A total of 4,035 samples from 237 drill holes covering 6,453 metres of historic drilling have been analyzed. The consistency of these results supports the ongoing resource evaluation, with an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) currently in progress to better define the project’s long-term development potential.

Advancements in Metallurgical Studies

Alongside the exploration success, metallurgical testwork is progressing in collaboration with leading European research institutions. Prospech Limited is actively involved in the REMHub project, an EU-backed initiative aimed at advancing REE processing technologies. As part of these efforts, metallurgical testing is being conducted at the University of Oulu and GTK Mintek, the processing division of the Geological Survey of Finland.

The company plans to release an update on the metallurgical testwork once initial results are available, providing further clarity on processing efficiencies and potential recovery rates. The integration of advanced REE processing methods is expected to enhance the project’s economic feasibility and strengthen its role in securing a stable supply of critical minerals in Europe.

Strategic Importance in the REE Sector

The Korsnäs project is gaining recognition as a premier REE asset, with Prospech Limited positioning itself as a key player in the European rare earth supply chain. With demand for REEs surging due to the growth of electric vehicles, wind energy, and advanced technology sectors, the continued success of the project highlights its potential to address supply shortages and contribute to Europe’s push for resource independence.
