Highlights

  • The Igrejinah project has identified over 5% Li2O mineralization with 52 high-priority targets delineated.
  • Perpetual Resources is set to commence drilling in Q2 2025, leveraging existing infrastructure.
  • Collaborative efforts with local stakeholders are underway to refine exploration strategies in Brazil’s Lithium Valley.

Recent exploration activities by Perpetual Resources have unveiled significant high-grade lithium potential at the Igrejinah project in Brazil's renowned Lithium Valley region. Utilizing advanced multispectral survey techniques, 52 priority target areas have been identified, vastly enhancing the company's exploration strategy.

The survey has confirmed the presence of spodumene signatures, revealing continuous target trends that extend up to 1.4 kilometers in strike length. This discovery underscores the project’s potential for hosting regional-scale spodumene-bearing pegmatites.

Historical Insights and Future Prospects

Building on historical mining activities from the 1980s, which focused on pollucite, spodumene, and tourmalines, existing access tracks remain in place, facilitating an efficient transition to drilling. The Igrejinah project has consistently returned high-grade lithium results of over 4% Li2O, aligning with past assays that reached up to 7.6% Li2O.

Perpetual Resources (ASX:PEC) is strategically poised to start its drilling operations by the second quarter of 2025. This step forward is supported by the company’s confidence in the project's economic potential, further bolstered by exceptional rock chip results along the strike from nearby projects.

Strategic Engagement and Ongoing Preparations

The exploration team has initiated engagement with local landowners in Araçuaí through K2 Mineração, leveraging established land access agreements. This collaborative approach is fundamental to the project’s ongoing success, with PEC's exploration manager, Allan Stephens, relocating to Brazil to oversee the upcoming drill program and broader project development.

The focus will now involve combining soil sampling, auger drilling, and rock chip analysis with LiDAR, multispectral, and structural data to refine the next phase of exploration. The company is finalizing a drill contract anticipated to begin in Q2 2025, employing the same experienced contractor engaged by other prominent players in the region.

Assay results and updates on exploration targets are expected to be announced shortly, setting the stage for what promises to be a transformative year for Perpetual Resources as they expand their footprint in one of the world’s most promising lithium locales.
