Highlights
- Significant gold intercepts confirmed at the Little Gem prospect, including 22.7m at 5.0 g/t gold.
- A 16-hole follow-up drilling program initiated to explore a 4.7km strike zone.
- Assay results for additional drill holes expected by April 2025.
Ora Banda Mining (ASX:OBM) has reinforced the gold potential at its Riverina Gold Camp with impressive results from its latest drilling at the Little Gem prospect. Recent diamond drilling has unveiled two substantial high-grade lodes at depth, marking a major step forward in the company’s exploration strategy.
A standout intercept from hole LGDD25005 revealed high-grade mineralization 400 metres below the surface. The Diamond Lode delivered 22.7 metres at 5.0 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including a robust section of 14.5 metres at 6.8 g/t and a peak interval of 6.2 metres at 10.8 g/t. Additionally, the Ruby Lode yielded 10.9 metres at 6.4 g/t, featuring an exceptional segment of 3.6 metres at 16.9 g/t and 0.95 metres at 55.9 g/t.
These results are part of a five-hole diamond drilling program totaling 1,849 metres, which expands upon the initial discovery from hole LGDD24001. This earlier drilling intersected three gold-bearing lodes, with results such as 4.6 metres at 7.4 g/t, 5.3 metres at 3.3 g/t, and 4.4 metres at 3.4 g/t. Additional assays from hole LGDD25001, positioned 250 metres up-dip, returned 2.6 metres at 2.0 g/t (Diamond Lode) and 4.0 metres at 4.1 g/t with 2.1 metres at 3.5 g/t (Ruby Lode). The remaining assay results from this drilling program are expected by April 2025.
Geological evidence indicates that the high-grade mineralization is lithologically controlled, resembling the nearby Sunraysia deposit, located four kilometres south of Little Gem. In response to these promising findings, Ora Banda has initiated an extensive 16-hole follow-up program. This campaign will target 4.7 kilometres of prospective strike between Little Gem and Sunraysia, with drilling extending to a depth of 400 metres.
The upcoming program, spanning approximately 7,300 metres, will be conducted in phases, with an initial focus on a 1.6-kilometre strike zone at Little Gem. The company aims to test carbonate horizons across the extended strike length, utilizing a nominal 400-metre line spacing approach.
This development marks a significant expansion of Ora Banda’s gold exploration efforts, more than doubling the current strike length of the known Riverina orebody. The results from this initiative are expected to provide deeper insights into the region’s mineralization potential, with assay results anticipated within four weeks of drilling completion.
