Highlights:
- First Geomagnetic Survey in Decades: New Frontier Minerals (ASX:NFM) is conducting a helicopter-borne geomagnetic survey over its Harts Range project in the Northern Territory, marking the first survey since the 1990s.
- Exploration Focus on Uranium and Rare Earths: The survey aims to support the discovery of uranium, niobium, and heavy rare earths, potentially leading to new drill targets for 2025 or advancing ground geophysical work.
- Pegmatite Discovery and Share Price Surge: The company recently uncovered a 500m pegmatite formation on-site, contributing to a 36% rise in its share price, alongside new uranium exploration targets identified near existing prospects.
New Frontier Minerals (ASX:NFM), formerly Castillo Copper, has launched a high-resolution geomagnetic survey over its Harts Range asset in the Northern Territory. This survey, the first of its kind since the 1990s, will cover 2,253 line kilometres with a 50m spaced arrangement designed to provide detailed data for potential mineral discoveries. The focus of the exploration is on uranium, niobium, and heavy rare earths, key commodities in the company's strategic plans.
The survey will be conducted via helicopter and is expected to yield data by late January 2025. The results will assist in identifying drill targets for a possible 2025 exploration campaign or help refine existing ground geophysical work. New Resolution Geophysics (NRG) has been appointed to model and interpret the data, which the company hopes will expedite the exploration process and ensure a thorough approach to their project.
In addition to the geomagnetic survey, New Frontier also reported a significant field discovery—a 500m long pegmatite structure on-site at Harts Range. This new find has led to a notable 36% rise in the company's share price. Despite the subdued market for lithium, which has impacted many miners, New Frontier is focusing its efforts on uranium and other strategic minerals. The discovery also led to the identification of two new uranium exploration targets near existing prospects, further bolstering the company's exploration potential.
