Highlights:
- Reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Turnberry deposit in Meeka Metals Ltd's (ASX:MEK) Murchison Gold Project uncovered high-grade gold assays, with intersections including 6m at 26.47g/t and 4m at 30.19g/t.
- 145 drill holes were completed in December, with 42 assayed, revealing potential for enhanced production from shallow oxide open pits at Turnberry South.
- Upcoming activities include further drilling at Turnberry and St Anne’s, grade control finalization, and underground growth drilling at Turnberry.
Meeka Metals Ltd (ASX:MEK) has announced significant gold grades exceeding 30 grams per tonne (g/t) from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Turnberry deposit, part of its Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia. The project is advancing steadily toward the commencement of mining operations in March.
Key Drilling Results
RC drilling at the Turnberry deposit returned notable assay results, including:
- 6 metres at 26.47g/t from 59 metres, including 1 metre at 154.50g/t.
- 4 metres at 30.19g/t from 81 metres, including 2 metres at 58.03g/t.
These high-grade findings demonstrate the potential for strong production from Turnberry’s open pits.
Drilling Progress and Expansion Potential
The recent phase of drilling, completed in December, involved 145 holes, with assays received for 42 of them. Drilling is set to continue at Turnberry and St Anne’s throughout the March quarter. Recent results indicate improved grade on the western side of the Turnberry South pit, where prior drilling was sparse.
One notable intersection—10 metres at 2.58g/t outside and west of the pit shell—highlights opportunities for shallow oxide open-pit expansion. Further drilling in this area is planned to explore the potential for resource growth.
Next Steps in the Project
The next stages of work at Turnberry include:
1. Finalizing grade control programs to refine production planning.
2. Ongoing RC and underground growth drilling, aimed at extending known mineralized zones.
3. Advancing exploration at St Anne’s, another key target within the Murchison project.
These efforts align with Meeka Metals’ broader strategy to develop high-grade gold resources at Murchison, leveraging consistent and positive assay results.
