Highlights
- New lode position identified 85m beyond the main lode at Harbour View, showing semi-massive to massive sulphide mineralization.
- An extensive 15,000m drill program is underway at the Kundip mining center, aiming to expand the high-grade sulphide underground resource.
- Ongoing evaluation and drilling is planned, with assay results anticipated by April 2025 to update the resource estimate.
An exciting development has emerged from Medallion Metals' (ASX:MM8) Harbour View deposit, where a new lode has been intersected 85 meters into the footwall of the main lode position. The discovery of this potential new mineralized lode marks a significant achievement in the company's exploration efforts, despite assays still pending. This breakthrough is poised to reshape the current understanding of the greater Ravensthorpe project’s resource potential.
Drilling Advancements and Future Plans
Drilling activities are demonstrating that the mineral system within the Kundip mining center has substantial untapped potential. A comprehensive 15,000-meter drill program is being executed to augment both the size and the certainty of the high-grade sulphide underground resource. To date, approximately 10,000 meters of drilling have been completed with a reverse circulation (RC) drill rig, which is now being followed by diamond drilling initiated in December 2024.
By April 2025, the completion of the full drill program is expected, leading to an updated resource estimate within the first half of the year. The data from this initiative is crucial as it could redefine the resource envelope and potentially enhance the project's scale.
Strategic Developments Ahead
The potential new sulphide lode uncovered signifies a substantial upside, prompting careful strategic planning for future drilling operations. This includes the mobilization of a second RC rig to the site to expedite both infill and extensional drilling activities, ensuring comprehensive evaluation and leveraging of the newfound mineralized zone.
The timeline also forecasts the receipt of assay results from the newly interpreted mineralized zones by April, which will critically inform the resource estimate revision. These developments align with Medallion Metals' commitment to enhancing the flagship Ravensthorpe gold project.
