Highlights

  • Strong continuity of silver and lead mineralization confirmed at Maronan project with recent high-grade assay results.
  • Emerging copper and gold lodes within the shallow Starter Zone point to potential early mining options.
  • Ongoing 2024 drilling program aims to refine resource models and support preliminary mining studies.

The latest set of assay results from Maronan Metals' (ASX:MMA) 2024 drilling campaign further underscores the strength and continuity of silver and lead mineralization at the Maronan project in Queensland. Drilling operations along both the Eastern and Western Horizons continue to reveal potential extensions, while continuous copper and gold lodes are appearing within the shallow Starter Zone.

Significant assay outcomes include:

  • 20.9 meters grading 4.7% lead and 120g/t silver in hole MRN24014 within the Eastern Horizon.
  • 31 meters at 5.1% lead and 70g/t silver in hole MRN24010 within the Western Horizon.
  • Notable intersections in the copper-gold zone, enhancing prospective mining avenues.

Strategic Advancements and Optimistic Projections

Building on previous positive drilling outcomes, the Maronan project shows great promise, evident from the exploration of one of Australia’s largest undeveloped silver resources. The site's proximity to the Cannington silver-lead-zinc mine further cements its potential. Optimized flotation tests have produced high-quality concentrates, offering recoveries of 95% and 91% for lead and silver, respectively.

Drilling Program Drives Towards Resource Optimization

The drilling efforts, particularly targeting the Eastern and Western Horizons, continue to present strong geological continuity. Holes such as MRN24008 and MRN24009 have extended the East 10 pyroxene domain, opening avenues for additional near-surface resources.

As the 2024 program reaches its conclusion, the remaining assay results are expected within the next four to six weeks. An ongoing update to the mineral resource and rigorous permitting processes further show the organization's commitment to strategic project development.

Next Steps in Maronan's Development Journey

Establishing ongoing environmental monitoring, including a weather station and noise studies, signifies a phase of robust planning. While meetings with stakeholders advance, preliminary plans for the 2025 drill season are in the pipeline, promising more insights into this expansive project.
