Highlights
- Discovery of a high-grade gold shoot and mineralisation extension at Ferké project
- Best drilling intersections include 45m at 8.58g/t gold, with peak values up to 14.8g/t
- Follow-up diamond and reverse circulation drilling programs planned
Many Peaks Minerals (ASX:MPK) has made a significant breakthrough in its exploration at the Ferké project in Côte d’Ivoire, uncovering a high-grade gold shoot and substantial extensions to existing mineralisation. This discovery, confirmed through the company’s maiden drilling campaign, has highlighted the potential for increased gold resources in the Ouarigue South prospect.
Drilling Success at Ouarigue South
A total of six drill holes, spanning 1,285 meters across a 760-meter strike, were completed at the Ouarigue South prospect. The area is known for hosting high-grade gold mineralisation from surface levels, and recent results have strengthened expectations of its expansion.
One of the most notable intersections from the recent drill campaign includes 45 meters at 8.58 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 104 meters, with a higher-grade section of 25 meters at 14.8g/t gold from 116 meters. Another significant result recorded 11 meters at 2.16g/t gold from 53 meters, reinforcing the continuity of mineralisation at depth.
These findings build upon previous drilling success, where earlier assays revealed 47 meters at 3.72g/t gold from surface, including a high-grade section of 14 meters at 10.7g/t gold from 33 meters. Additional results from past exploration showed 54.17 meters at 1.88g/t gold from 59.58 meters, with a peak interval of 6.75 meters at 10.4g/t gold from 107 meters.
New High-Grade Zone Identified
Exploration efforts have unveiled a previously unidentified structural zone that could represent a high-grade shoot within the broader mineralised system at Ouarigue South. The identification of this zone marks a major milestone in unlocking further value from the deposit.
According to the company’s leadership, this discovery not only extends mineralisation along strike but also confirms the presence of high-grade zones that could substantially enhance the project’s overall resource potential.
Next Steps: Follow-Up Drilling Initiatives
Building on the momentum of these promising results, Many Peaks is accelerating a follow-up diamond drilling program aimed at extending newly identified high-grade shoots. Alongside this, a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program is planned to systematically explore the Ouarigue extension targets.
The RC campaign will focus on shallow exploration to assess bulk tonnage potential, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the gold distribution across the project area.
With ongoing drilling programs and expanding targets, Many Peaks is positioning itself for further exploration success, reinforcing the Ferké project’s potential as a promising gold asset in West Africa.
