  • Drilling Initiatives: Preparations underway for a comprehensive drilling program.
  • Key Exploration Zones: Multiple high-grade gold targets identified for assessment.

Leeuwin Metals (ASX:LM1) is progressing with its initiative to develop the Marda gold project, located in Western Australia’s Goldfields region. Acquired from Ramelius Resources, the project spans a vast area of granted mining, exploration, and prospecting leases, featuring multiple historical sites and open pits. Initial drilling results from previous work indicate the presence of high-grade mineralization, reinforcing the project's significance.

Acquisition and Development Plans

The acquisition structure includes an initial payment in shares, with additional milestone-based considerations tied to defined mineral resource estimates. Leeuwin Metals is advancing preparations for its maiden drilling program, with mobilization efforts set to commence following shareholder approval.

Exploration Strategy and Key Target Areas

The company is conducting a detailed data review to outline high-priority drilling zones. The project is segmented into four key areas: Marda Central, Marda North, Marda South, and Marda West, each offering distinct geological prospects.

Marda Central includes several pits previously operated by Ramelius Resources, where drilling efforts will focus on potential extensions. Marda North features multiple prospects, including an under-explored mine site with mineralization extending along a significant strike length.

Marda South is centered around the Golden Orb trend, with exploration efforts aimed at extending known mineralization beneath existing workings. Marda West includes the King Brown pit, an area where prior drilling has highlighted deep mineralized structures and additional exploration targets.

Commitment to Exploration Progress

Leeuwin Metals is actively advancing its drilling initiatives, supported by recent capital funding. With groundwork in place, the company is set to expand its exploration footprint and assess high-priority targets within the Marda project.
