- Lanthanein Resources (LNR) begins diamond drilling at Lady Grey, Mt Holland.
- The site is adjacent to the historic Bounty Gold Mine.
- Drilling focuses on testing a conductor plate beneath an EM survey line.
Lanthanein Resources (ASX:LNR) has initiated diamond drilling at its Lady Grey Project, located within the renowned Yilgarn Craton at Mt Holland in Western Australia. This gold prospect lies near the historic Bounty Gold Mine, which previously yielded approximately 1.3 million ounces of gold. The Lady Grey site also sits on Covalent Lithium’s Mount Holland mine, adding to the project’s strategic significance.
This latest drilling effort marks the second phase of exploration, aiming to test a conductor plate identified beneath Moving Loop Electromagnetic (MLEM) survey line #6. The targeted conductor plate, situated roughly 200 meters below the surface with an easterly dip, is accessible via a historical road that connects the former Lady Ada mine to the Marvel Loch Forrestania Road.
The current drilling program consists of three reverse circulation (RC) precollars, each reaching a depth of up to 150 meters. These precollars are followed by diamond tail drill holes, designed to probe deeper into the conductor plate for comprehensive analysis. This approach builds on previous groundwork and leverages advanced exploration techniques to refine the focus on potential gold deposits.
The initial diamond tail drilling has commenced, with the objective of intersecting the MLEM conductor plate. This specific plate coincides with a gold anomaly of 75 parts per billion (ppb), identified through Ultrafine (UFF) soil sampling. This anomaly further highlights the prospectivity of the Lady Grey Project and its potential contribution to the region’s mining history.
In addition to ongoing drilling, Lanthanein Resources has collaborated with Traditional Owners from the Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation to complete an on-ground heritage survey for MLEM Line #1. This survey enables access to a higher-ranking conductor plate under Line #1, which corresponds to a more significant gold anomaly of 256 ppb.
The company remains committed to progressing exploration while ensuring compliance with environmental and cultural heritage considerations. The flora and fauna survey for the area has been finalized, with necessary reports lodged with the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS).
With its methodical approach and strategic partnerships, Lanthanein Resources continues to advance the Lady Grey Project, adding value to the Mt Holland region. This phase of drilling aims to unlock further insights into the site’s potential and contribute to the rich legacy of gold exploration in Western Australia.
