Highlights
- Strong gold and silver intercepts reported at Chatree South-East Complex
- Resource estimate in progress with 67% drilling completed
- Exploration momentum continues at Nueva Esperanza in Chile
Kingsgate Consolidated (ASX:KCN) has reported encouraging exploration results from its ongoing drilling programs at the Chatree South-East Complex in Thailand, alongside early-stage progress at the Nueva Esperanza Project in Chile. The recent findings signal growing potential for both resource expansion and new development opportunities across its portfolio.
Promising Intercepts Near Chatree Gold Mine
At the Chatree South-East Complex, situated just 3km from the main Chatree Gold Mine, the company’s subsidiary Akara Resources has been actively progressing its 2025 drilling campaign. As of March, approximately 67% of the planned drilling had been completed. A total of 38 reverse circulation (RC) holes spanning 5,158 meters and five diamond drill holes covering 726 meters were executed. The average recoveries from these drilling efforts stood at 68% for RC and an impressive 98% for diamond drilling.
Standout assay results include a 14.2-meter interval grading 2.05 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold and 41.53 g/t of silver from drill hole 8118DD. These results bolster the geological model, which suggests the mineralisation is structurally controlled by an east-dipping reverse fault system.
With continued success from drilling efforts, Kingsgate aims to deliver an inaugural resource estimate for the Chatree South-East Complex later in the year. The remaining exploration activities, scheduled for completion by Q2 2025, will focus on identifying further extensions of known mineralisation and pinpointing new target zones.
Advancing the Nueva Esperanza Project in Chile
In parallel, Kingsgate is advancing development activities at its Nueva Esperanza Project in Chile. Key infrastructure upgrades, including road repairs and a fixed-wing topographic survey, have been completed. The next phase involves an extensive geochemical sampling campaign, with around 1,000 rock chip and soil samples planned across the Potosi, Boulder Patch, and Santa Rosa zones.
So far, 59 samples have been collected, with laboratory analysis expected in April 2025. These results will be instrumental in shaping future exploration and development plans for the Chilean asset.
The coming months are set to be pivotal for Kingsgate Consolidated (ASX:KCN) as it completes its exploration program at Chatree and progresses sampling efforts at Nueva Esperanza. With significant intercepts already confirmed and further testing underway, the company is building a foundation for potential resource growth and longer-term project development.
