Highlights
- Nexus confirms 1km extension at Branches Prospect
- Promising intercepts at MC4.3 bolster exploration scope
- First RC drilling at Payns Prospect begins
Nexus Minerals Ltd (ASX:NXM) has reported a major step forward in its exploration efforts at the Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia, with new results from a 237-hole aircore drilling program delivering key updates from multiple regional prospects.
Extended Gold Zones at Branches Prospect
The company’s latest round of drilling — totalling 10,171 metres — has revealed a 1-kilometre southern extension of the mineralised system at the Branches Prospect, increasing its strike length to over 2.1 kilometres. Highlights from target MC1.4 include:
- 4m at 2.48g/t Au from 20m
- 4m at 1.92g/t Au from surface
- 4m at 0.90g/t Au from 24m
These results complement previous intersections such as 5m at 17.91g/t Au and 12m at 5.21g/t Au, positioning Branches as a high-priority zone within Wallbrook’s growing pipeline of targets.
MC4.3 Drilling Shows Encouraging Signs
Another focus area, target MC4.3, returned several anomalous gold intercepts along a 1-kilometre strike, highlighting additional exploration upside. Intercepts include:
- 4m at 1.72g/t Au from 32m
- 8m at 0.45g/t Au from 60m
- 4m at 1.30g/t Au (within 8m at 0.72g/t Au) from 36m
These findings strengthen the exploration potential at MC4.3, with further fieldwork planned to refine economic prospects.
Focus Shifts to RC Drilling at Payns Prospect
While target MC5.4 yielded minimal mineralisation and will not see further drilling, efforts have now transitioned to the Payns Prospect. Nexus has initiated a 4,000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign — the first RC phase to follow up recent aircore discoveries. This step reflects the company’s methodical and expanding approach to uncovering value at Wallbrook.
With growing interest in ASX dividend stocks and a resurgence in the resources sector within the S&P/ASX200 index, Nexus’ continued momentum could offer increased visibility in broader market discussions.
The company’s systematic exploration over the past year has built a compelling case for ongoing growth at Wallbrook, as multiple targets evolve into substantial prospects. The recent developments underscore a promising phase in Nexus’ long-term strategy as exploration accelerates across key mineralised corridors.
