  • Patriot Battery Metals identifies high-grade caesium zones in Canada
  • Drill results reveal 75% pollucite with significant caesium content
  • Resource estimate and feasibility study expected in Q3 2025

Patriot Battery Metals (ASX:PMT) is advancing its strategic metals portfolio with significant progress at the Shaakichiuwaanaan Project in Québec, Canada. The company has confirmed the presence of pollucite—a key caesium-bearing mineral—at the Vega and Rigel zones, highlighting a promising addition to its suite of critical resources alongside lithium and tantalum.

Pollucite, known as the only mineral where caesium is an essential element, plays an important role in various industrial applications including pharmaceuticals, medical imaging, and specialized electronics. Patriot recently reported an impressive 75% pollucite composition in one core sample, which yielded 1.1 metres at 26.6% caesium monoxide—signaling strong grades rarely seen in early-stage exploration.

To build on this discovery, the company has collected drill core samples from the Vega Zone to support an ore sorting test program. This initiative aims to assess pollucite concentrate recovery efficiency prior to entering conventional lithium and tantalum extraction stages, thus optimizing overall processing outcomes.

As part of the broader development strategy, Patriot is now working on a maiden caesium resource estimate, expected in the third quarter of 2025. Concurrently, the company is making strides towards a preliminary mineral processing framework, which will be key in unlocking further economic opportunities from the project’s critical metal content.

The Shaakichiuwaanaan Project spans 23,710 hectares in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region and is a cornerstone of Patriot’s exploration portfolio. The presence of caesium, in addition to other critical elements like tantalum and gallium, significantly enhances the project's potential, both from a diversification and strategic value perspective.

The ongoing Feasibility Study for Shaakichiuwaanaan remains on track for completion by Q3 2025. The study will not only detail the lithium and tantalum economics but also assess the potential by-product value of caesium and gallium—both crucial in emerging technologies and defense applications.

With multiple studies underway, Patriot Battery Metals is poised to redefine the critical mineral landscape in North America, supporting growing global demand for secure and diversified supply chains of high-value strategic elements.
