Highlights
- Kali Metals extends Sweetwater Prospect's tin-bearing strike to 3.9 kilometers.
- New rock-chip samples show exceptional tin grades of up to 16.7%.
- Ongoing exploration at Mt Cudgewa Tin Prospect also shows great promise.
Kali Metals Ltd (ASX:KMO) has announced a significant development in its Sweetwater Tin Prospect, located within the Southern Lachlan Fold Belt of southeast New South Wales and northeast Victoria. The company has successfully doubled the strike length of this tin-target zone to 3.9 kilometers, indicating an expanding potential for high-grade tin mineralization. This marks a major milestone for Kali Metals, as the Sweetwater area continues to show substantial promise for future development.
Recent exploration efforts at Sweetwater have yielded remarkable rock-chip results, with some samples returning as high as 16.7% tin, along with notable levels of tantalum and niobium. The presence of cassiterite (tin-oxide) crystals, which are crucial indicators of tin-bearing deposits, further reinforces the area's potential for future tin production. These findings, coupled with the expansion of the strike length, suggest that the Sweetwater Prospect remains a highly favorable area for exploration.
The newly expanded strike at Sweetwater features outcrops up to 20 meters in width, with mineralization continuing to show strong results across the entire stretch. The exploration team is now focused on confirming the continuity of tin mineralization along this extended strike and is preparing to design a preliminary drilling program to evaluate the grade and scope of the mineralization further.
In addition to the exciting developments at Sweetwater, Kali Metals is also making strides at its Mt Cudgewa Tin Prospect. A recent LiDAR survey has identified several forgotten historical tin workings from the early 1900s, reigniting interest in the area's potential. Kali has initiated a soil sampling program that will cover 880 locations around the Mt Cudgewa site, with the goal of uncovering additional tin-bearing structures.
The company's efforts in both the Sweetwater and Mt Cudgewa regions are part of its broader strategy to develop a portfolio of tin-lithium projects across the Southern Lachlan Fold Belt. With the exploration team actively progressing on multiple fronts, Kali Metals is poised to share more exciting updates in the coming months, with the first set of results expected from the Mt Cudgewa soil sampling program in May.
As the Southern Lachlan Fold Belt continues to demonstrate its mineral potential, Kali Metals remains committed to unlocking new opportunities and advancing its exploration projects toward future growth.
