 Highlights

  • Expenditure lowered dramatically to enable an efficient operational start
  • Initial phase employs commercial-grade direct extraction for lithium brine processing
  • Modular design strategy supports scalable, phased developmen.

Arizona Lithium (ASX:AZL) is active within the lithium extraction sector, focusing on processing lithium from brine sources located in Saskatchewan, Canada. The Prairie lithium project follows a restructured plan that substantially reduces the upfront expenditure required to initiate operations. This approach positions the project among the early ventures in North America utilizing commercial-scale direct extraction technology on brine resources
Project Development

The project follows a multi-phase development framework. In the first phase, a commercial-scale direct extraction unit is utilized at the initial site to process lithium brine. The necessary infrastructure, including wells for production, disposal, and sourcing brackish water, has been completed to support the extraction process. Subsequent phases involve expanding the facility at the initial site by adding additional extraction units and then replicating the model at further sites. This modular design allows for streamlined scalability and efficient management of construction expenses.

Engineering Oversight
Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of twenty-twenty-five under the oversight of Grey Owl Engineering, a reputable firm based in Western Canada. Continuous operations at the extraction plant form a key element of the project design. The development plan integrates the proprietary Prairie Lithium Ion Exchange technology, which has undergone verification by established technology providers. This technology plays a critical role in processing lithium from brine, resulting in the production of battery-grade lithium carbonate.

Innovation in Technology
The proprietary Prairie Lithium Ion Exchange technology is recognized by established technology specialists for its capability to selectively process lithium from brine. The battery-grade lithium carbonate produced is currently undergoing pilot testing for various market applications, with evaluations being conducted by interested parties from Asia. The integration of this innovative technology with a modular expansion strategy marks a shift in the operational methods employed in lithium brine processing in North America.
